Don't up the intensity everyday or you might burn out. Be consistent, take light days and rest days in between hard workouts. After a month back consider a week off if you have been going aggressively.

Rule 2 seems pretty ill-thought out. This would be pretty quickly unsustainable unless you intentionally set the bar really low to start with and continually half arse it a little less every day until suddenly you’re about 50 when you start red-lining it.

I can vouche for the "Wake up early" part. I used to sleep in constantly. It was a serious problem. Then I happened to notice an app my phone comes with that helps you make sure to get at least 7 hours of sleep a night (Called Bedtime. Its on Apple). Yes, I know you can just set alarms and whatnot, but this worked for me. I now got to bed at 10, and wake up at 5 every day. It is the weirdest feeling to wake up at 5am and be ready to go. All this extra time I never had before. But aside from that, I have noticed a HUGE difference in my mood. I just feel happier. Then, to drive that home, I got lazy during the first weekend after starting this, and slept in a couple days. I was the most miserable bastard you have ever seen for at least three days, until I got back in the groove and stuck to 7 hours of sleep again. Now I'm back up and feeling happy again. I seriously suggest giving this a try.

  • Posted: September 10, 2019 19:55

    Styphelus

Working hard doesn't get you anywhere. It's all about who you know and the connections you have or form. It's about being talkative and charming. If you work hard, work just dumps more work on you and they try everything to keep you where you are because someone has to do the work. Learned that the hard way and had make adjustments to be one of those other people.

I support 1,3,4. But if you're in a job where they just take and take and take, it's better to do everything you're tasked to do to the best of your ability and then save your energy. Don't look for more without compensation cause they'll give it to you.

Work smarter, not harder. There's plenty of successful people that work smart, rather than hard. There's plenty of people that work hard every single day and don't achieve anything. If you're always just focused on working hard then you might just be spinning your wheels and not making any progress. If you concentrate on working smarter, setting goals, how to achieve those goals, and how to free up time so you can enjoy your life, then you're making progress.

Rules that doesn't apply to almost everyone and working hard is not really a good idea, stress level will probably increase, I rather work normally, come on this is the company business, no matter how hard you work, you'll get the same pay anyway unless you're aiming to be CEO or something, i would rather work hard like really hard for something meaningful, and yes I'm working on something i found meaningful but I'm still keeping my lame ass job until the meaningful something are much more realistic or achievable

I hate this wake up early shit--as if that's a given. I wake up at 10 am. But I work till 1-2 am most days. This is how I get the most shit done. Also works best given the time changes with the people that I work with.
