I have nothing against the picture itself but I've seen this shared all over social media and can't stand the bold text "What people don't see:" up on top. It literally says the same thing right under it, why did someone add that?? "What people don't see.... what we see... what we don't see". Also the picture itself shows that people can't see all the bottom building blocks, it's just so damn redundant and none of the text is needed, the picture speaks for itself lol. It's like explaining the punchline before telling the joke. I don't know why this bothers me so much.

Some people make things look so easy that it's easy to get discouraged about being able to achieve anything similar, but A) appreciate that it probably took that person thousands of hours to build that skill, and B) if you really wanted you could dedicate yourself to spending the time on it yourself.

I was in elite 150s rowing team just below varsity. We went to Boston to race some Ivy League college. We trained like you would not believe, in addition to all our school work. The race day came, we were stoked! The other team broke an oar at the start. So we waited while they brought another oar. Then we rowed like helluva, so hard, the other team broke another oar. But when we got to the finish line, nobody was there. Nobody cares about JV. They didn't even ask who won when we got back. We traded tee-shirts, that was it. 49% of American HS students say they want to have their own podcast. The odds are about a billion to one. Instead of all the relentless 'confidence scheme' hype, why not instruct kids just to have a productive life? Get up, get something done, expand your knowledge and languages, go work every day, save your money. The root word of 'success' is 'suck cess', from the Old English, 'suck bad luck'. Latin succedere 'come after'.

This is so true. And then after decades of telling anyone who will listen all of my advice will fall on deaf ears. And soon, when I retire before 40 everyone will gasp and be amazed at how "i got so lucky." Most will likely be jealous and/or assume I had a windfall. A lot of the people I spent 20 years trying to help will come wanting a loan that will never be paid back or a job. They will call me greedy "he has so much money why doesn't he help us?" "He should give a bunch to charity." REEEE! "I'll fake a back injury on his porch and sue him." Yet for 20 years I will have been desperately trying to help them. I live paycheck to paycheck currently, I have 2 mortgages and 3 houses to maintain, yet I have tracked down the perfect charity I wish to help and already have a very good idea to use my skills and get them more money then i could donate in the foreseeable future. Don't be surprised when you attempt a lawsuit theft and I ruin your life. If there is one thing in this world I hate it's a theif. I will wreck your existance and will do so 100% legally because i have devoted more time to learning asset protection then you have liking facebook comments. It's very disheartening what our government, society, and education system does to people. They say ignorance is bliss. Sometimes I truly wish i didn't know what a financial shitshow my Country and loved ones are in. It's kind of hard to feel bad tho when i spend 10 years trying to get someone to read a book on financing, tax law, business management, etc... then they take out a life ruining equity loan on a half assed attempt to "start a business and get rich." Then they wonder why it bombed and even worse, likely blame others for their misfortune. It doesn't have to be Wolf of Wallstreet. Getting rich in basic terms is pretty simple. And boring. If i can learn all of this when I was working 90+ hours a week in the heat and snow then 40 hour casuals simply have no excuses. I mean, would you hop in an airplane if you don't know how to fly? Hell no! So then, why in the world would you be so ignorantly blind to just go and start a business with no idea how to run it? I'm not a smart guy. Not book smart at least. I dropped out of Junior college TWICE and even I am well on my way to early enough retirement I can actually enjoy it. I hope each and every one of you that read this take a good, long look at that picture and then start reading personal finance and investing books. You will not regret it.
