That sounds like an excuse to stop people questioning the fact that he can make more money than even the most extravagantly living person could possibly spend in their life while his employees don’t get bathroom breaks and have to use food stamps to feed their family. He can choke.

Well he does practice what he preaches. He found a world with people willing to accept a job under [horrible working](https://www.theverge.com/2018/4/16/17243026/amazon-warehouse-jobs-worker-conditions-bathroom-breaks) conditions while he's drowning in money. The last part of the quote nicely adds to it as well--he's completely comfortable with it. Don't get your motivation from this guy. Gates has plenty of quotes and is not a horrible person.

Complaining is totally a strategy. This man is simply so overflowing with money he has nothing ever to complain about and can no longer comprehend a problem that he doesn't have the resources to immediately fix. This is talking down to poor people.

Not sure why every common-sense utterance ever made from ultra-rich “rock star” modern titans of industry needs to be revered. These kinds of quotes as well as the pearls of wisdom trotted out in the annual shareholder letters are basically just PR campaigns to mythologize the Amazon/Bezos brand. If you can’t recognize that this is part of an information campaign not unlike what the political campaigns and Russians and wealthy corporations do, then you’ve got a serious blind spot that you need to be aware of.

To start off Mr Bezos has the luxury of throwing unimaginable sums of money at any problem he sees, This makes it easy for him to hold this opinion. This is the definition of complain: “express dissatisfaction or annoyance about a state of affairs or an event.” What about that is problematic? Complaining is just people sharing their perspective. So let’s stop placing a value judgement on complaining, it’s an entirely valid action. I do agree in some instances people don’t bother to consider other strategies. But in other instances people have no other course of action but to complain. So let’s not shame them for it. Lastly complaining and other strategies are not mutually exclusive. As an aside Mr. Bezos takes on an extraordinary amount of responsible by taking on leadership positions and accumulating extreme wealth. If he can not handle “complaining” he needs to step down and give away his assets.

I'm always astonished at how people can develep into this mindset. If this is true why does Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Truett Cathy, the Costco owner, and other business owners act benevolently to their employees and always have record setting years? Bezos theory is crass at minimum and criminal at maximum.

"Too much sanity may be madness. And the maddsst of all, to see life as it is and not as it should be" Jeff Bezos is legitamently one of the worst people on Earth right now, maybe ever. He is a modern day plantation owner and people who find comfort in his quote above are fucking psychos. Looking to a nutjob who has amassed billions yet is still not satiated so he has to continue to exploit the masses, Jesus Christ fuck Reddit.

I STRONGLY DISAGREE! THIS WORLD AND ITS DIRECTION IS BASED ON MISLEADING TACTICS, TAKING ADVANTAGE AND MANIPULATION OF OTHERS, EXPLOITATION OF EARTH AND ITS RESOURCES, AND ALL LAWS WERE PUT IN PLACE TO SUPPORT IT. HUMAN MIND IS NAIVE IN A WAY THAT PEOLE ONLY LEARN WHAT THEY ARE SURROUNDED AND THAT'S MOSTLY ENVIRONMENT BASED ON DELUSIONAL CULTURES THAT ARE STILL PRIMITIVE AND DEVELOPING, LET'S NOT FORGET THAT. AND ONLY BECAUSE SOME SMART IT GUY WHO BECAME EXTREMELY RICH AND INFLUENTIAL BECAUSE HE WAS IN A RIGHT PLACE IN A RIGHT TIME EQUIPPED WITH THE RIGHT KNOWLEDGE, DOESN'T MEAN HE IS RIGHT OR THAT HE KNOWS IT ALL! HE ONLY USED THE SYSTEM FOR HIS OWN SUCCESS, BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN HE IS MAKING THIS WORLD AND PLANET ANY BETTER! IF HE WOULD, HE WOULD URGE RECYCLING OF THE PLASTICS! OR HE WOULD URGE TO USE TRANSPORT VEHICLES ONLY RUNNING ON BATTERIES OR RENEWABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY! IF HE WANNA USE THIS WORLD ANY BETTER, HE WOULD URGE TO NOT USE CHEAP CHILD LABOR IN FAR EAST! OR HE WOULD WANT TO ERADICATE CORRUPTION, ETC ETC ETC. SO AM I GONNA TAKE THIS GUY SERIOUSLY? NO. AM I GONNA RESPECT THIS GUY FOR BUSINESS DEALINGS? YES
