This is how i lost weight. I eat one cheat meal a week if i do good. Its not overkill, but i get to enjoy a nice steak, or a couple slices of pizza, etc. Not good for the day but harmless for the week, really. Still losing about 1-2 lbs a week, @ 295 from 425 15 months ago!

Food is honestly my jam. I'm an addict so I let myself have one thing I just indulge in and that's food. Luckily I have a wicked metabolism so I don't need to worry about it. But I know so many people who are like "oh I spend so much money on food" and it's like... so? I used to spend $200 a day on heroin for 5 years like fuck I'm fine with spending $200 every few weeks on bomb ass food to eat. I'll never make myself feel guilty about food like I'm eating that's what I'm supposed to be doing damn. I understand not everyone has my metabolism and I respect that, but I still think there should be less guilt about good food. Like fat free sour cream. What kind of nonsense is that? The fats in sour cream are good fats, taking the good fats out don't make it a healthier product. It just tastes worse. You can't just judge by fat percentage and calories that's wack. Just eat smaller amounts of full fat sour cream. But obviously keep eating sour cream though cause it rules.

This is one of the TWO reasons I work hard. I love to eat at various restaurants and try so many new things. The second reason is I love to travel and I spend $5k-$10k/yr on travel most years.

Am I the only one who read this as “if I work hard enough by working out and eating healthy most of the time, then I can eat delicious, indulgent food on occasion”? Especially given the context of her likely being a K-pop Star. I honestly prefer chipotle to most of the expensive food I’ve eaten so I don’t personally correlate “delicious” with “expensive”

Being self reliant motivates me. Not leaving as much of my fate as possible in another's hands. Recently got into watching Curtis Stone on YouTube as well as various "legends" (in their own art) for do it yourself homestead projects. Various motivating and inspiring topics: Wood rockets stoves. Steel drum over firebrick chimney creates sideways "rocket" sucking fire into drum burn chamber, then down and along vents buried in dirt, gravel, mud, cob, cement, bricks, whatever. Heat rises so hard to go down outside chimney but inside drum, trapping more heat in that drum. Pot of water on the drum fixes being too dry. Rocket stoves use 10/10th the wood as regular wood stoves, prob cost ya 500 for parts, less even. Need firebricks inside drum and regular bricks "can" be used for fire area but best to use firebricks there too imo. Burning twigs and sticks and generating high heat can cut utility bills, esp in Canada. Off grid tech Solar panels, inverters, and batteries LDS prepper (does greenhouse YouTube to feed his family) Ram water pumps (use a downstream line to move 10% of the line's water uphill w/o electric pump needed, ancient tech) Free hot water from copper pipe wrapped around wood stove exhaust pipe. Micro greens (trays of radish, sunflower, and pea sprouts, suuuuuuper nutritious I hear, like 400% more vitamin than the grown radish. Eat 7-10 days after seeding) Geothermal free +10c/+55f constant air for cost of fan. Saw guy growing "oranges in Nebraska" on YouTube. Dig a 6-8 foot deep trench 100 feet or so, gravel on bottom then black drainage tubes 6 inches wide snaked along floor. Then more gravel and dirt, then second layer can work on it, instead of escalating a swimming pool, heard one said if done over just a trench works. Air tube goes 6+ feet into earth, snakes around and tube comes up, air has been "normalized" to +10 in summer or winter, both being an advantage. 500-1000 bucks and can cut gas/hydro electric, and propane costs RIGHT down for utility heating. Outdoor shower. 55 gallon drum 2nd story up, hose attached to bottom of barrel, put a nozzle on the hose and be sure the nozzle has that "leave on switch". I'm racking my brain w other weird ideas to live better. Doubt most folks are willing to poop in a home Depot bucket w wood shavings then put that into a 3 year compost pile before using as fertilizer for trees and shrubs, never for food. Lmao! Never figured out where the urine goes yet. Lol. Vids said to keep seperate though. Saw a guy use a power drill hooked up to an auto harvester mini bucket. Was cool for lettuce and drill spun a bar of ropes w knots at the end to knock the lettuce into the catcher bucket. Can use one handed. Well if the drill is light, lol. Farmer scoops and drills all into catcher. Saved him HOURS of harvest time. Same dude made a washing machine for clothes use spin cycle to dry his market veggies for farmer markets. Prob for himself too. Chicken coops. Just great to build a giant dog house for 30 chickens and have eggs and eventually chicken meat. Saw folks make slide trays to easily clean out the coops. Ceder shavings make it not smell. Saw a guy fill PVC pipe feeders so the once/week feeding cuts daily feeding time sucks. Also PVC water pipe w water nipples so chickens don't mess their water, daily.

I once took this class in college and the teacher asked us to go around and introduce ourselves. There was this one asian girl, and when it got to be her turn she stood up and was like: “I love food. If I died, I would be sad because then I could not eat food.” Best first day of class intro ever!

This is what made me decide to change careers and attend grad school in 2013. I really liked sushi and eating out in general but knew I couldn’t afford to keep doing it 3x a week. So back to school and now my income is 2.5x higher (although rent is over twice as high too...and I’m in 40k debt).

Tbh this is a large part of why I work out, and hard. I fucking love food. And I especially love food that unfortunately is calorie dense, like ice cream. I started working out and tracking macros to lose weight with a wedding as my deadline. I did it. Then, I realized I liked being fit and strong (although I’d always done sports I’d never been good at them so to see myself becoming *athletic* was really wild). So I started working out more intensely, pushing my limits further, being more diligent. Then, I realized that the more I worked out, the more I could afford to eat. No joke, my TDEE went up by almost 50% from my sedentary baseline (mind you I’m doing hardcore cardio, lifting, and mma (jitz and thai) for 15+ hours a week, so it’s a *lot* of sweaty difficult exhausting work). *Do you know how many extra pastries that is?*

What motivates me to work hard is knowing that in five years, I will surely not be the same person as I am today. Which direction do I want to take that? The behaviors we exude and the habits we set today shape us into what we become down the road. Thinking it into existence is like MAYBE 10% of the battle. The rest of it is concentrated power of will. Haven't you heard that Fort Minor song?
