That's what I've heard. It's better to live by values instead of goals. You can still have goals, but it's understanding and living by the values that makes getting to the goal possible. An example I heard are two different people going to try and summit a mountain. One climber is just set on getting to the top, while the other climber simply enjoys climbing and getting to the summit is a side benefit. If both climbers got near the top but then turned away by weather, the second climber would be much better off than the first. Even if they both summited, in the end the second climber is going to be more fulfilled.

Definitely. If we just focus on achievements we will never be happy. On the other hand, if we enjoy the process, it is much better.

The end of what, our star? We just switch stars. Or for the end of our universe (if there is one)... we just switch universes. Even if we can’t, there are still billions or trillions more years that we could survive. Even in a completely meaningless universe, accepting nihilism doesn’t necessarily mean that you should do nothing. It just means that you’re free to do whatever you want.

It's never about the goal itself, it's the journey on who you become in pursuit of that goal.

    Nihilism is not very motivational.
