Am I the only one who finds this very unvmotivating? "Your job is to show everyone how to do something you can't possibly do. They're watching". Like I can't move a mountain. Like it he post was "You've been assigned this obstacle to show others it can be overcome" then fine, but to use "move the mountain" as my job is demoralizing to me since I'm not a miracle worker. I know i know, downvotes for taking it too literally...

I really like this. Not only for what I assume is the obvious text interpretation; but also for someone like me. I had very narcissistic parents growing up who were quite abusive to varying degrees. Parents whom I thought I would never in a million years hear speak a word of guilt or cry a single tear for what they imposed upon me. But as an adult I did emotionally move IT(I used to think them similar to Stephen King' s elderitch abomination).

You've also been shot in both of your kneecaps, your hands are tied behind your back, and three guys have been assigned to you to hit you with quarterstaffs. Oh, and you have cancer. Don't forget to Think Positive Thoughts^TM . Nah but honestly though, this kinda getmotivated stuff is so vague it's damn near toxic. It's way too easy to use it in a way that completely absolves people of any responsibility to help others. "Nah dude, that's your mountain, you've been assigned that to show the rest of us that it can be moved. You go dude, we're rooting for you" like bitch, this isn't *my* mountain. *These* are fucking *our* mountains. Get up off your arse and help me move this boulder so my mate here isn't fucking stuck under it.

This is how I feel sometimes. I was smart enough as a kid that the adults around me "joked" that I would save the world. Cure cancer, global warming, world hunger, blah blah blah. Obviously they were just trying to motivate me (or something) but it translated out to this sense of needing to do something impossible. My goals have reflected this; what I want to do more than anything is learn enough physics to test things like string theory and loop quantum gravity, but a myriad of health issues have kept me from going to schools that actually teach that stuff, and so I teach it to myself. Of course I'm not brilliant enough to actually get this stuff inherently, so my progress is so slow on it that my motivation is continually crushed. I've made it past all of those health issues and it's taught me that I should always keep trying, but hell, right now it feels like that mountain is never going to move and I should just give up to go carry bags at the local airport, which is what I'm literally doing right now. At least I get to fly over the mountains -_-
