    I mean, no, this isn't what a mentor is. Mentors are people who are in a higher position than their mentees. That may be due to superior knowledge/wisdom/experience, higher rank, superior skill, etc. The whole point is that this is a person who is able to pull you up to their level, not push you up. It also typically implies that the mentor is older than the mentee, or that they've been around longer (in whatever the context is). Hell, an apprentice can see more in their master than the master seems in him or herself, but that doesn't make the apprentice a mentor to their master.
