The problem with this as motivation is that there are hundreds of other women who dressed up as Mia Hamm as a kid and worked their asses off but they don’t get their picture posted on the internet. Everyone who is successful works hard, but not everyone who works hard is successful

Im happy for her but they never show the thousands of people who tried and desperatly wanted to be a successfull athlete/musician/actor/scientist/whatever and never made it for whatever reasons. On one girl like her theres ten thousands of girls who want it and even put in the work ( sometimea even more than the ones who "make it") but will never make it. Im all for motivation and dreams coming true but i think nowadays theres an unhealthy amount of "never give up!", "just do x long enough and you will become y", "everybody can be the next jay z/beyonce" and similar messages on social media and in self help books. It just doesnt work this way and only creates unhealthy expectations and makes people depressed in the end. Best thing to do is staying flexible. Some dreams will just never come true. That doesnt mean you shouldnt try, but theres a good chance you will not be the girl in this photo, or the next elon musk or whoeve, no matter hoe much work you put in and people should know that before they fuck themselves and their life up. Take that from a guy who did fuck himself and his life up. I dont want to discourage anyone but you should at least know the risk and that all your hard work may not come to frution on such a big scale. Just dont create thosr high expectations in your head and stay flexible. Sometimes its time to let a dream go and realize it will never be true and to switch your lane before you go so far downhill its hard to ever come up again

What's motivational about an athlete? They are born with amazing talent then hone it by playing a literal children's game all day. That sounds like an awesome lifestyle, the exact opposite of adversity.
