    In my experience, too often we assume that more communication is a solution when the real problem is effective communication. In business, this may be sending seven e-mails instead of having a single conversation or having several meetings with the goal of keeping everyone "in the loop" when in reality, the meetings are so bad that people tune out altogether. I often try to tell my team that communication must contain an acknowledgment by the person or team you are trying to reach. If they don't respond, they may have not received it, misunderstood it, or ignored it. The solution, of course, is not to simply send it again, but to change the message, method, and/or timing before your second attempt.
